Purpose
The
Sun Lakes Shrine Club provides a place for Shriners, their
Ladies and Honorary Members to meet, socialize and support Shriners Hospitals
for Children away from the central auditorium in Phoenix. It offers opportunities to participate
in functions that demonstrate and illustrate the purposes of the Shrine of
North America while having fun. Members enjoy
working for our children, and the club donates money and assistance to the
hospitals and El Zaribah Shriner’s hospital transportation
fund.
Membership
Membership in
the Sun
Lakes Shrine Club is
available to any Shriner in good standing with their home temple. Their Ladies
are encouraged to attend meetings with their husbands and actively participate
in all functions. Honorary Members, who are widows of Shriners, are also
encouraged to participate and take part in the camaraderie that is
available.
Meetings
The
Sun Lakes Shrine Club meets the second Monday of each
month in the Sun
Lakes Country Club. There
are no formal meetings during June, July and August. Meetings normally start at
4:30pm with a social get together, followed by a business meeting at 5:00pm and
dinner is served at 6:00pm. Some meetings include entertainment or dancing after
dinner.
